OUR COLLECTION — LATIN AMERICA — PERU 65. PLASTERED EGG NATIVITY
This real egg is hand-broken and emptied by the artisans and then dipped in white plaster wash to fortify after proper cleaning. The artisans then insert a plaster base inside and a stand outside, gluing the mold-pressed and hand-painted tiny plaster figures inside the retablo. Finally, decorative touches are added to the outside. The artisans who make this item are Magdalena Fernandez and sister-in-law Norma of Manos Amigas in Peru. The item measures 2.75 inches tall.
